Pet Sounds (a.k.a Studio Playlist 2).

Latest playlist, bit of a mix of old and new stuff but includes...

Blossoms - Gary.
Great album, think it's one of their best and another band who were fantatstic at Glastonbury (wasn't there - iPlayer).

Little Simz – Lotus
Her sixth album with some great guests Inc. Michael Kiwanuka and Sampha.

Ibibo Sound Machine – Electricity.
One of my faves from the Afro-Funksters, total mash up of disco, funk and electronic.

Joy Crookes – Skin.
Nearly, 5 yrs old but still love this album, fantastic soulful vocals with lots of personal and social commentary. Great Glastonbury performance as well.

Unkle – War Stories.
Never get bored of this album with some great guest vocals Inc. the amazing Gavin Clark (see below).

Sunhouse – Crazy on the Weekend (difficult album to get but is being re-released).
Came across Sunhouse and Gavin Clark through his work with Unkle, amazingly underrated artist and quite rightly described as the Nick Drake of the 90's and sorely missed.
The tragic story of Gavin Clark, the Nick Drake of the 90s.

Lady Blackbird – Slang Spirituals.
Follow up to 'Black Acid Soul' and in my opinion better, grittier and funkier.

Morcheeba – Escape the Chaos.
Latest album and more of the same sultry, laidback vocals with more of a Massive Attack ‘Ish feel than previous releases (which is nothing bad).

John Grant – Boy from Michigan.
To be honest could have chosen any of his work as love it all but playing a lot of this at the minute.

Lil Yachty – Let's Start Here.
Recommendation from a friend in Mexico, described as Psych Rock which I’m not sure about as still quite funky but can certainly hear the 'Floyd' influences, check out 'the BLACK seminole'.

Thievery Corporation – The Richest Man in Babylon/Cosmic Game.
Love the variety in all their work - dub, jazz, Indian, Latin, hip-hop, electronic and their collaborations i.e. David Byrne, Perry Farrell, Wayne Coyne. Return to these two albums over and over but love all their stuff.

Blondie – Parallel Lines.
Debbie Harry's birthday week and an all-time classic that is incredibly 46 yrs old (The album not Debbie!).

Pulp (Patchwork!)  – More Pulp.
First album in 24 yrs and is great, as was their Glastonbury performance.
