Pet Sounds (a.k.a Studio Playlist 1).
I always work to music so thought i'd share some of the current playlist - which I will (try to) update regularly.
Grace Jones – Hurricane.
A really underrated album of hers and contains the fantastic ‘Williams’ Blood’.
Ananda Shankar – Ananda Shankar.
Ravi Shankar’s nephew and a chip off the old block, check out his version of Jumpin’ Jack Flash.
Yacht Rock Essentials.
A playlist i got and is so laid back, starts with Christopher Cross – 'Sailing' followed by The Doobie Brothers – 'What a Fool Believes’ and just gets better...
LCD Sound System – Sound of Silver.
Re-discovered after their amazing Glastonbury (2024) performance, i'm playing this (and the rest of their catalogue) to death at the minute. If you’ve not seen it, check out ‘All My Friends’ from their Glastonbury set which is incredible, this also contains the classic ‘North American Scum’.
Romy – Mid Air.
Fantastic debut album from Romy (The XX) pure disco love.
David Sylvian – A Victim of Stars.
For those melancholy winter afternoons.
Dusty – Dusty in Memphis (Club/Deluxe edition re-issue).
An amazing re-issue from 1999 with 14 extra tacks Inc. ‘All the Kings Horses’.
Seu Jorge – The Life Aquatic Sessions.
Acoustic, Portuguese Bowie covers, what more could you want.
Brian Eno – Here Come the Warm Jets.
Still sounds like it was released last week.
Lady Blackbird – Black Acid Soul.
And it is.
Blur – The Ballad of Darren.
Not a massive Blur fan but love this album.
