“ …exploring code, colour, pattern & form.”
I come from an art school background (fine art & ceramics), possess a MSc in Software Development and create coded generative artwork with a strong focus on colour, pattern & shape. Utilising the unforeseen and often unanticipated randomness that code can generate, my work is an amalgamation of my art school and coding instruction, curiosity and interest in colour, texture, light & pattern – using code creatively as the medium.
Currently, I only work in code – JavaScript (SvJs) in VS Code, no other software. The original images are created in SVG format (Vector Graphics) so are scalable without loss of resolution or quality (no pixels). For printing they are converted to PNG at a high PPI (up to 15000 +) to achieve an industry standard print of 300+ DPI, allowing prints of up to 1500 x1500mm or A0 size (1189 x 841mm).
Prints are professionally produced using Giclée printing which creates fine art prints of extreme high quality and longevity. The paper used is Hahnemühle Photorag 308 gsm paper, 100% cotton, ISO 9706 conformity and is of museum quality for the highest age resistance with an archival lifespan of up to 200 years (dependant on conditions), it gives muted blacks with even matt colour reproduction and excellent detail. The surface has minimal texture with a chalky smooth cotton feel which creates smooth colour gradients, it is suitable for mounting but its cotton texture means edges can fray if not carefully handled.
I don’t use AI, Photoshop, Illustrator or any other graphic/design application to create my work, just code (I use a browser extension for the SVG to PNG conversion and occasionally GIMP, for resizing only).

Away from all this are our 2 fantastic dogs (Milo & Jess), a miraculous blind black cat (*Little Richard) and for sanity I run distance. All work displayed on this platform is created by luckymothers and the whole printing process is 100% carbon neutral.
(*Little Richard has now passed on, God bless you Ridgey).
